The Missouri State Thespian Conference offers many Performance Opportunities for your troupe. Any questions should be directed to the appropriate person for that event as listed below.

Each year we look for 1-3 schools who would like to bring their fall production to perform on the mainstage at the state conference. If you you would like to have your production adjudicated, or would just like more information please download the following documents.

All State Opening Number (Contact Tabatha Babcock or Adrienne Gonzalez)
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a large group Opening Musical Number presented at the Opening Session of the Conference. Students interested in participating in this performance will need to be recommended by their school sponsor during conference registration and must submit an audition video with vocals and choreography. Each sponsor may recommend up to 2 students who they feel have strong musical theatre performance abilities. *Students who do not submit an audition video will NOT be included in the opening number.

Audition videos should consist of BOTH singing and dancing. The vocal audition must include the selected musical theatre song cutting w/ the provided instrumental background music. Access the sheet music and backing track HERE. The dance audition must include the provided choreography plus two 8 counts of your own choreography showcasing your abilities which may consist of spins, leaps, flips, etc. These two 8 counts can come either before or after the choreography.
Audition videos must be submitted by November 1st.
Students participating in the Opening Number will receive the music and choreography in advance which should be memorized prior to our first rehearsal.
*Participants must be available for rehearsal on January 6th from 7 pm - 9 pm and January 7th from 8 am-10 am.
